Incredible base oil performance -- one of the best 30 rated oils tested so far, surpassed only by another Lucas oil ("Long Lasting"). With additives, this outperforms almost everything else. The base oil had a bit of initial resistance that required easing the weight onto it. More than others, but less than most. Performed better than expensive "performance" oils such as [[Royal Purple]] or [[Mobil-1]]. Low power usage, very low operating temperatures, and incredible wear profiles. All-around excellent results.

M1 provided great results while reducing the operating temperature of the oil. This would work well for street vehicles without external oil cooling.

M10 and M12 both provided outstanding results but with generally increased temperatures. In either case, even the highest temperature recorded was lower than that of many other base oils. These would work well for performance vehicles preferably with, but not requiring external oil cooling.

If your main goal is lowering oil temperature, M1 is recommended. Otherwise M10 and M12 are well within normal testing temperature ranges (280-300' F) and provided outstanding wear protection.

Lucas Pure Synthetic "Long Lasting" produced the least scarring of any base oil, but at the cost of extreme heats. Our primary goal with this oil was to reduce temperatures, as the scarring was already minimal. No other oil has come close to the wear performance of Lucas "Long Lasting".

M12 reduced peak temperatures by 40.8' F and required power by 10.85%, while also reducing peak scar size by 13.68%. The relatively low scoring of Lucas Long Lasting (N/A scored 74.46 out of a possible 100) is due to the high heat and high required power observed.

One unusual result is that this particular oil leaves a brown residue in some areas. This was the case for the base oil as well as with all SQUID INK blends. One of the ingredients in the base oil leaves this residue. How it affects long term engine operation is unknown, but it likely has no negative effect.

Incredible base oil performance. Performed better than expensive "performance" oils such as Royal Purple or Mobil-1. Low power usage, very low operating temperatures, and excellent wear profiles. All-around great results.

M1 provided great results while reducing the operating temperature of the oil. This would work well for street vehicles without external oil cooling.

M10 and M12 both provided outstanding results but with generally increased temperatures. In either case, even the highest temperature recorded was lower than that of many other base oils. If your main goal is lowering oil temperature, M1 is recommended. Otherwise M10 and M12 are well within normal testing temperature ranges (280-300' F) and provided outstanding wear protection.

Lucas Pure Synthetic "Long Lasting" produced very little and fine scarring, but at the cost of extreme heats. This is especially evident at the base oil's 120 minute reading. The primary goal of additives with this oil were to reduce temperatures, as the scarring was already minimal.
