Introduction
The Mobil-1 Advanced Full Synthetic (AFS) oil performs very poorly.

They claim "15,000 miles guaranteed protection" on the bottle. Don't believe it. A very poor performing oil, it would seize the testing machine if the load weight was not eased into over 60-90 seconds (all other oils were full load within just a few seconds). Its maximum loaded start was about half of most other oils.
It became a pain to test this because it wore through the test cylinders down to the clamp, meaning the machine had to be stopped before the full 120 minutes were completed. Very little testing was done in the end due to the effort and time involved. The loss of material in sanding and polishing the rotating wheel enough to remove the huge gouges left in it became too consuming. Avoid this oil!
The temperature sensor was replaced after the M1 test as temperatures were well outside of expected range. Resting is unlikely due to the poor overall function of this oil. Consider the low temperatures of the M1 test lightly.
